Hello Cultists! Long time no see: as explained before, I've been invited by Nouméa SciFi Club to their "Geek Week End" last 23-25 of October, for the 100th birthday of "The Call of Cthulhu" publishing. So as it's a bit far from home (it took 34 hours to come back...), I mixed this trip with my annual long break and had some good time visiting New Caledonia. I've already been there, also invited by the same organization, in 2013 but this remote island deserves more discovery time: from an extraordinary Lagoon (and the diving/snorkeling that come with) to an endemic fauna and flora, with gorgeous landscapes and friendly people. But yes, I worked a lot, with an exhibition of illustrations in Nouméa's Marine Muséeum, a Conference about Cthulhu in Pop Culture, The "Minions & Monsters" movie presentation and the convention itself, along with some Role Playing sessions animation.
No Time to be bored.
I was here with Croc, a French RPG game creator/edito/translator and fan of Caledonian Geckos, and Brian Holland, head producer of Call of Cthulhu Games at Chaosium.
Anyway, Thanks to all the people that organized everything, and received us, it was great time.
Today's strip is related to the "relative" (7000km) proximity of New Caledonia from the infamous Nemo Point , near where R'lyeh is supposed to be lying.
less exotic, but as interesting: I'll be in the Campus Miskatonic event in Verdun in 13-14 of November, with famous guests in French Lovecraftian Landscape, such as F.Baranger or P. Foerster. It's more reachable, event for visitors!
