Donc, voilà la couverture de l'"Appel de Cthulhoo, volume1: la Crypte de l'Indiscible". Edité par Factory Edition, un label d'Anime Manga Presse, ce volume compile les tous premier strips du Vault traduits en Français. Au format A4, couverture rigide, 40 pages, le premier tome est vendu 10,50 Euros et peut etre directement commandé sur la boutique d'AnimeLand

L'ensemble des strips du Vault seront progressivement traduits dans les volumes suivants.

Quand aux dédicaces de ce week-end sur le Stand AnimeLand à Geekopolis, les horaires ont un peu changés:

Samedi 25 Mai : 15h30-16h30
Dimanche 26 Mai : 16h - 17h

Enfin! Après des années d'errances dans la langue de Shakespeare, voici enfin les aventures de Cthulhoo "traduites" dans celle de Molière... Près de 10 ans après le debut de l'aventure du Vault sur la toile, et plusieurs tentatives avortées, une édition française papier va très bientot être disponibles pour tous les sectateurs que le terme "cultist" chatouille... Un vrai tome occulte compilant les premiers strips du Vault, à ne pas mettre entre toute les mains!
Il sera présenté en avant première sur le salon Geekopolis qui se tiendra le week-end prochain (25-26 Mai) a Montreuil. Vous pourrez m'y rencontrer pour dédicaces sur le stand AnimeLand / AnimeManga Presse (Little Tokyo) le Samedi 25 Mai de 15h30 à 16h30 et le Dimanche 26 Mai de 16h à 17h.

Toutes les informations techniques sur comment se procurer ces indiscibles volumes seront communiquées très bientôt... Les Astres sont propices, mais la chaine logistique est parfois un peu esotérique!

After years of bad english, the Vault will now have a printed French edition, at last. The book will be presented at the Geekopolis Convention (Montreuil, 26-26 May). I'll be signing the book at the AnimeLand/AnimeManga Press booth (Little Tokyo zone) Saturday 25th (2-3 pm) and Sunday 26th (10-11 am). See you there!

Today's strip was inspired by cultist Gene W.'s remark about my own usage of the "cyclopean" word. It has become an hommage to all the schollars still working around the works by (and inspired by) Lovecraft, including people I know like Boddy D. (corrector of the UVoD), Cedric Monget, Melanie Fazi, people at Sans Detour Edition or La Clef d'argent among many others... I've never been myself a literary specialist, and have limited knowledge of the main studies about HPL's works, and I'm always interrested by modern point of views.

The Vault is reopening today with a rather cryptic strip: New Caledonia is nicknamed the "rock" (le caillou) by its inhabitants, because of its remote position in the Pacific Ocean and the high concentration of metal in the caledonian ground. In addition, the strip was created during an illustration workshop, part of the Noumea Lovecraft Festival.

It was a wonderful trip and an excellent festival. I will try to make a digest of both quickly, after fixing a few technical problems with the Vault website: first, RSS feed is broken and will need some correction. Then, I'll have to find a new solution to have a working "blog" - posterous will close soon, and I'll vahe to find some alternative.

Here's at last the explanation of the cryptic last strip: I'm taking a long jump over the Pacific, to reach New Caledonia, where I'll be participating to a Lovecraft Festival, organised by Noumea's Sci-Fi Club. For the one that ignore what "Nouvelle Caledonie" is, it's just another piece of the dead colonial French empire, a beautiful red and green rock lost in the middle of the ocean, surronded by a gorgeous lagoon. I coudn't refuse the club's invitation, with such a nice place to visit... Sharks, endemic tarantulas, Lovecraftian convention and Kanak culture, that's a good program!

I'll be presenting my works and animate an illustration workshop.
There will be some debate around HPL's works and Call of Cthulhu RPG sessions.
Thanks to everyone that made that trip possible!

Une note tout en français, une fois n'est pas coutume. C'est un peu complexe: le strip d'aujourd'hui a été réalisé pour illustrer la superbe edition "30eme anniversaire" de l'Appel de Cthulhu par Sans-Detour. Et ces jours ci est sortit chez Bragelonne (qui a co-édité "Cthulhu - Le Mythe" avec Sans-Détour) une superbe version du Necronomicon - qui comprend la critiquable version de "Simon" mais aussi quantité de materiel des plus interessant... et c'est surtout un très bel objet - et j'ai aussi quelques illustrations personnelles dans le cahiers couleurs qu'il contient. Bref, La boucle est bouclée, et l'on peut commencer a entonner des chants impies dans la langue de Molière, Papus et Gilles de Rai... Et en attendant plus de suprises en VF très très bientot!

This strips is not a political/religious lampoon, just a unsubtle advertisement for the UVoD Volume I "Welcome to the Vault", re-issued by Kettle Drummer and Diabolo Ediciones. Sales are now officialy opened on Amazon (pre-order is over). For European Cultists, you can check Amazon-Uk - but sometimes it might be interesting to order for Amazon-Us, depending of the shipping fares.

Selling books is not a matter of money, but more a way to publish more books. UVoD Volume 2, "G.o.o.s On The Loose", will be published in Spanish first, in a few monthes, and, depending of the sales of this one, in English soon after. The Volume 2 was even harder to find than the first one, so I guess it will please some collectors. And all of this will lead to the true objective: publish a long awaited third volume! We'll see. There are many ongoing project - most of them focused on France - The Vault is not Sleeping...

As you may know, a paper version of the Unspeakable Vault was printed in 2004 by Pegasus Press. Two volumes, "Welcome to the Vault" and "G.O.O.s on the Loose" were edited, compilling strips published online along with some new material (most of the original works were later posted on the website). Both books were sold mainly in the US, distributed by White Wolf and Chaosium, and were quickly sold out - Pegasus never reprinted them. "Unspeakable Vault" books became as rare as good Necronomicon copies, overall in Europe. But don't lament; cultists! Diabolo Ediciones, with KettleDrummer Books, just made you dream come true! A new reprint of the first strips from the Vault will be available by October 1: preorders are now opened on Amazon!

the new "Welcome to the Vault" gathers strips from 2003 to 2005, under a new cover, and with a new horizontal format. A must have for newcomers and survivors!
For the moment, there's no specific distribution in Europe, shipping fares from amazon seeming correct.

I always found Thor a bit ridiculous in the comic, compared to the original mythological tales, and I'm not the only one...
Bobby D., the corrector of the Vault and cultist of the Norse God, taught me that Marvel once edited a story where an Evil version of Thor meets R'lyehians and Many-Angled Ones... what has not been written?
Anyway, today's strip was not inspired by the recent movies featuring the nordic playboy, but rather by Sabaton's song "Twilight of the Thunder God", from their latest album (a cover of the original by Amon Amarth, one of the best Vicking Metal band)
